The Canada-Portugal Chamber of Commerce (hereinafter “CPCC“, “we”, “us”, “our”), is the operator of the website canchampt.com, a platform that allows users to informed about CPCC’s objectives, benefits, services, news, and events; the platform also offers access to newsletters, contact information, and serves as a gateway for you to apply for CPCC membership (hereinafter “website”).

In this document, the user of the website (hereinafter “User”, “Data Subject”) can find information regarding the processing of personal data carried out by CPCC within the scope of its activity.

1. How is your personal data collected and processed?

We process your personal data for specific purposes necessary to manage, monitor and provide our best services within the scope of our website.
Your data is collected when you request a reservation or request information, using the form available for this purpose.

2. Who is the Data Controller?

The Data Controller of your personal data collected through the website is CCPC – CAMARA DE COMERCIO PORTUGAL-CANADA, with registered office at AVENIDA INFANTE D HENRIQUEN 26 and VAT number 518088367.

If the legal basis for the processing of your personal data is consent or legitimate interest, you may withdraw your consent or object to the processing at any time, without any consequences, but without compromising the lawfulness of the processing carried out until then. If consent is withdrawn or if you expressly object, CPCC will immediately cease processing your personal data for the purpose in question, unless it is necessary to process the data for compliance with legal and/or contractual obligations.

 

4. How long do we keep your personal data?

We will only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, namely, to manage the booking you have made. At the end of this period, the data will be deleted.

The period for which we keep your personal data may, however, vary depending on the purpose for which it is processed. We will therefore keep your personal data for the following periods:

5. Who do we send your data to?

CPCC will not communicate your personal data to third parties, except in compliance with the legal obligations that are applicable in each case or for cases in which this proves necessary for the provision of the services to be contracted.

6. What are the rights of the data subject?

As a data subject, you have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:

  • Right of acess: You have the right to access and/or request a copy of your personal data that is being processed by us, to obtain information on how we are processing your personal data, as well as to consult your personal data included in the files of the CPCC.
 
  • Right to rectification: You can change your personal data if it is incorrect or complete any that is incomplete.
 
  • Right to data erasure: You can request the deletion of your personal data when, among other reasons, the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
 
  • Right to restriction of treatment: You may request the restriction of the processing of your personal data in the following situations:
    • (a) when contesting the accuracy of your personal data; 
    • (b) when the processing is unlawful and you have objected to it and requested the restriction of the use of personal data; 
    • (c) when we no longer need to process your personal data, but you need it for the exercise or defense of rights in an administrative, judicial or extrajudicial proceeding; 
    • (d) where you have objected to the processing of your personal data for compliance with an obligation in the public interest or for the satisfaction of a legitimate interest, for as long as it is established that those legitimate grounds for processing override your motives.
 
  • Right to data portability: In certain situations, you will have the right to receive, in a structured, commonly used and automatically readable format, the personal data you have provided us with and those obtained from your relationship with us, as well as to transmit them to another entity.
 
  • Right to object: In certain situations, you may request that your personal data is no longer processed. We will stop processing your personal data unless there are legitimate grounds for doing so or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of rights in an administrative, judicial, or extrajudicial proceeding.
 

If you have any questions or wish to exercise these rights, you can send an e-mail to info@canchampt.com. To exercise your rights, if necessary, we may ask you to send a document proving your identity. You should also indicate the right you wish to exercise. The exercise of rights is free of charge, except in the case of a manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repeated request.

Please note that you can always lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Supervisory Authority: Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) via the website or email geral@cnpd.pt.

The CPCC reserves the right to adjust or changes to this Privacy Notice at any time.
