Congratulations, Ana Catarina Pereira!
The University of Lisbon student currently enrolled in her MSc in Aerospace Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, spent a year as a visiting graduate student at the University of Victoria – Center for Aerospace Research (CfAR) under the co-supervision of Dr Afzal Suleman and Dr Alexandra Moutinho.
Her thesis, « Infrared and Visible Camera Integration for Detecting and Tracking of Small UAS – A Deep Learning Approach » received the Best Student Oral Presentation Award at the Aerial Evolution Association of Canada 2023 Conference & Exhibition in November 2023. This award and the numerous internships of Portuguese students in Canada are a testament of the longstanding collaboration between two of the leading aerospace universities in Portugal and Canada, under the leadership of Canada Research Chair and luso-canadian Dr.Afzal Suleman. https://lnkd.in/du9iGqQK
